Haha.. Supposedly this post should be post earlier.. But due to the slow internet connection at home and too busy, I will post out all the outstanding post in one shot today.. ^^

Happy Rice Dumpling Day (5/6/11)

Normally people will call this day as Dragon boat Festival. However, I never celebrated it with Dragon Boat competition, I always called it as Rice dumpling day.

Let's brief about the history behind it. This festival will be celebrated each year on the 5th day of May of Lunar Calender. We, Chinese celebrate this day to commemorating the death of Qu Yuan (Famous Chinese poet Old time). He drowned himself in the river after he fail to advice the King and lastly his kingdom Chu fall into the kingdom of Qin. People last time made all this rice dumpling and threw it into the river. Hoping that the fish in the river wouldn't eat the body of this man, Qu Yuan. [ This is the BRIEF history which I knew since small.] :P

Anyway, during that day, I helped out my mom to make all those dumpling. Making dumpling need a lot of the work and I won't explain it in this post. For me the hardest part is warping up the dumpling and tie it up into a pyramid shape. That day there were three dumpling was ruined due to my bad tiering skill. And for my dear friends who get some of my handmade dumpling, If U saw some odd shape dumpling, That will be MY CREATION... ^^ hahaha..... Hope u guys love my hand made dumpling..
